Real or Not? Jury Is Out on Patrick Schwarzenegger's Big Moment on 'The White Lotus'

"Saxon is a douche who leads with his penis. He is despicable and outrageous," Patrick Schwarzenegger told British tabloid The Sun about his character Saxon Ratliff on Season 3 of "The White Lotus."

On Mike White's satiric look at the Uber-rich vacationing at a luxury wellness resort in Thailand, Saxon lives up to that description, virtually throwing himself at every woman in sight, regaling his family with sexist and racist jokes, and in the season's most controversial scene, showing off his buff body to his younger brother that has many thinking something incestuous is in the works.

But whether what's seen in the big reveal is real or not is a question that hasn't been fully vetted, at least by the actor. One thing is true – that is Patrick's butt. He told Esquire prior to the show's airing: "Yes, that's my real butt."

"No stand-in. Once I read the script, I knew what was coming, but before that, I didn't," he said.

A few seconds later, he is seen bending over at the sink in a shot that reveals his ample junk for a split-second. It is very dark and difficult to see, but was enough to have caught the eye of many, including his brother-in-law Chris Pratt. "I know where my eyes went–I'm not blood related to him, I was looking at that dick, bro," Pratt joked to E! News.

Still, there hasn't been any confirmation as to whether or not he is wearing a prosthetic penis.

He also has hinted at more to come. "In episodes five and six, there will be some times that I take some bathroom breaks from the family, or maybe I won't watch that episode," website The Tab quoted hims saying.

And Patrick's nude scene was promoted by an unusual source: his father Arnold in an Instagram post prior to the episode being aired. "I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say – the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." The reference is likely to Arnold's nude scene in "Terminator 2" when he walked naked into a biker's bar and said to a patron: "I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle."

But it would be unusual if Patrick wasn't wearing a prosthetic. Their use is common in full-frontal nude scenes for various reasons, such as continuity, safety, and the actor's well-being. There have been previous examples on the first two seasons of "The White Lotus." On Season 1, Steve Zahn examined his testicles in the mirror and later said that prosthetic genitals were used in the scene. He told The Wrap, "I remember when I got the script asking Mike if I was going to have to do full frontal. And he's like, 'No, it's going to be a prosthetic,'" Zahn told The Wrap. "I did have to approve the prosthetic that they used. He showed it to me first. And I was like, 'Yeah, that'll do.'"

As it turned out, he didn't even wear it. "No, that was my body double," he told Esquire. "I asked if I was going to have to wear it and (White) goes, 'Well, it's two hours in the makeup chair and we don't see your face so we don't need you to.'"

On Season 2, British hunk Theo James also went full-frontal, and when asked, he admitted he was wearing a prosthetic. The moment came in a scene in which he was coming out of the water after skinny-dipping. Variety reported that on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," he explained that it was decided he would wear a prosthetic penis in the scene, to which he agreed. Discussing the prosthetic with Rebecca Hickey, the show's makeup lead, he said he wanted a "Regular Joe," because the scene wasn't about the "pee-wee." But when James saw what she created, he didn't think there was anything regular about it. "When James saw the prosthetic, he joked about the size, which according to Hickey was regular. 'I mean, it's bigger than that. It's like she stole it off a donkey in the field!' he joked. 'The thing is ginormous.'"
