Pop star Halsey melted fans' hearts with a social media update on March 13 that specify "she/they" pronouns, reports Us Weekly magazine.

The 26-year-old singer, who is currently expecting their first child, made no additional comment, but fans took note of the update right off and the love came pouring in, People Magazine reports.

It was at that point that Halsey acknowledged having adopted "they" as well as "she" for their pronouns, posting "Thank U" along with a heart emoji at Instagram, Us Weekly said.

The singer came out in 2015 as bisexual, Us Weekly noted, and has commented about that in the past. Us Weekly recalled a 2017 tweet in which Halsey mused, "So if I'm dating a guy I'm straight, and if I date a woman, I'm a lesbian," and went on to suggest, "The only way to be a #True bisexual is to date 2 people at once."

More recently, Halsey "mused about 'perception of gender' on social media in light of their pregnancy," People recalled, quoting a post in which Halsey reflected that, "I thought pregnancy would give me very strong, binary feelings about 'womanhood' but truly it has leveled my perception of gender entirely."

The day before the update, Halsey posted a selfie in which they reveal their baby bump.
