Of course, '90s kids will remember the comedy "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" starring Melissa Joan Hart. The show was part of ABC's iconic TGIF line up that debuted in 1996. But the series, based on the Archie Comics series of the same name, is getting a spooky new reboot on Netflix.

The streaming service released the first glimpse of the "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," which will be a dark take on the franchise. The series was created by openly gay writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also developed the CW hit "Riverdale," based on the Archie Comics. Aguirre-Sacasa also serves as the chief creative officer of Archie Comics.

The "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" stars Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina Spellman, who "must reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit."

It's a much darker take than the ABC version from the '90s, which was a lighthearted coming of age comedy, especially given the new trailer.

Check out the trailer for the "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," which hits Netflix on Oct. 25, below.
